Nineteen of Medvedev's twenty-one victories have been achieved on hardcourt
A revitalized Daniil Medvedev won his first title for 882 days with a win over opponent Moutet in the competition final.
The Russian, a former world number one, has endured a challenging period, managing just one match at the Grand Slams and suffering a difficult moment at the US Open.
The player's unpredictability on the professional circuit - and difficulties with his serving in especial - caused him dropping out of the world's top 10 and ultimately parting ways with long-time coach Cervara.
Presently collaborating with his coach and Rohan Goetzke, the tennis star has consistently improved in the recent weeks - climaxing in a closely contested 7-5 4-6 6-3 triumph over challenger Moutet.
This marks his initial trophy after the Rome competition and maiden on a hard court since spring of that year.
The win also signifies the Russian has secured twenty-one victories at 21 various competitions.
"It's the first time I'm at a competition with my two daughters together, so to get a championship is really nice," stated tennis professional Daniil Medvedev.
"This victory is in honour of my younger daughter her name, because the first title I got when my older daughter Alisa was delivered was for her."
The tennis star, the 2021 US Open champion, had failed in his last six finals, including in that event previously this season.
The player's defensive play style and regular emotional displays on court had caused commentators to doubt if his ability to play at the highest level was over.
However the player has altered his approach in recent weeks, making an effort to come to the net and perform aggressively, supported by an improved service.
He recovered from a break down in the initial set against the difficult Frenchman, winning 4 of the concluding five games to take the lead.
The competitors swapped service breaks in the second set before Moutet, attempting for his initial professional championship, took control to force a final set.
The opponent defended 4 initial break points in a competitive final set before Medvedev broke to that score to secure the win.
Appropriately, he secured the win with a rally at the net area, with Moutet unable to handle a volley after over two and a half hours.
