I will overwhelm 'legitimate boxer' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua will face the American YouTuber in an eight round match which will be shown live on Netflix.

British boxer Joshua said he will "stamp all over" the American and "overpower" the American as the two fighters came face-to-face to promote next month's bout.

Ex twice unified heavyweight champion Joshua meets social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a mammoth uneven pairing - at Miami's venue on 19 December.

Fighter's Mindset

"I will injure his face and break his body up. I'm here to prove I'm the better fighter," Joshua, 35 years old, declared.

"I will dominate him completely. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I intend to really want to hurt him. That's my intention."

Civil Exchange

In spite of such comments, a composed Anthony Joshua and internet personality Paul - usually recognized for his showmanship - exchanged pleasantries and maintained decorum with each other.

Paul rather attacked former Joshua's opponent the Cameroonian fighter and described him as "ridiculous" after the Cameroonian rejected a match opportunity.

Taking Aim at Fury

Joshua, meanwhile, took aim at UK rival Fury - and rejected a million-pound wager 'Tyson Fury' claims he will make on a victory for Paul.

"Jake Paul outshines Fury - he's actually sitting here," Joshua commented.

"I acknowledge that."

Legitimate Opponent

Despite stating he plans to hurt Jake Paul, Anthony Joshua refused to speak negatively about his opponent's boxing ability.

"Jake is a serious fighter," he said.

Jake Paul's Background

Paul - who originally gained popularity on the Disney Channel - has mostly boxed mixed martial artists or past-their-prime fighters since becoming pro.

He lost to Briton Tommy Fury in 2023.

Financial Attraction

However, the inexperienced fighter remains one of boxing's largest money-making draws, consistently making huge earnings.

Forecast and Confidence

The 28 year old anticipated a KO victory in round four or five and stated he would prevent the highly-expected Fury-Joshua bout, which is apparently in the works for 2026.

"The next fight will be me versus Tyson Fury next year," Jake Paul said.

Size Difference

As both boxers participated in the usual face-off, with their height and weight contrast evident, it drove home just how unlikely this whole event is - and how astonishing it is that the fight is really happening.
